TASMANIAN ICT COMPANYS INTERNATIONAL LAUNCH
Leading Tasmanian integrated technology service provider, Tops, has launched itself on the international market, releasing a unique computer software repackaging and virtualisation service that will be managed nationally and internationally from its Hobart base. The service is available through the newly formed independent software repackaging company ZAPTZ© (www.ZAPTZ.com).
"The ZAPTZ system, is a revolutionary application packaging and management service that makes computer environments more stable, resilient and easier to manage," said Andrew Hennessy, technical director and founder, ZAPTZ. "It greatly reduces the time required to install, deploy or stream software applications and simplifies computer image management. It simply integrates and enhances Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI), Microsoft SoftGrid, Altiris Software Virtualisation Solution (SVS), and any existing server technology."
ZAPTZ is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tops and a Symantec authorised service delivery partner of the Altiris Wise Package Studio and Software Virtualisation Solution products.
"ZAPTZ's extensive knowledge and experience of application packaging enables customers to standardise and manage software throughout their entire IT environment," said Symantec area services director, Darren Walton. "This solution helps reduce support costs and streamline software operations by providing faster, simpler and more manageable deployment of desktop applications and improves system supportability by reducing the complexity of the software environment."
Noel Brown, general manager, Tops and ZAPTZ said, "The solution will be serviced from the company's Tasmanian base with the flow-on benefits to our information communications technology sector. This initiative provides a real example of a Tasmanian technology company competing successfully on the national and international stage."
Tops has been licensed to market and distribute ZAPTZ internationally and the company will roll out the service from its Tasmanian base, employing Tasmanian IT specialists. The company has already attracted strong interest in the ZAPTZ solution from around Australia and is now looking to establish markets in all states and in countries around the Pacific region.
Tops' local and international expertise provides the cutting edge system management and support that can be delivered online through ZAPTZ.
